Norwich, CT Promotion

From "Post your proposal here and place it on the agenda of Norwich Community Development Corporation"

Go to the project

Other places give very specific reasons to live, work and visit an area. Norwich, CT should examine and learn from some of them. Contact them and ask the questions was the promotion successful? What criteria of success and failure was used? What worked? What did not work? How were the residents and businesses affected? What were the responses of the residents and businesses?

Take for example the “This is Alabama” promotion. “From the sugar white beaches of the Gulf State Park to the pine-covered Southern Appalachians in Little River Canyon, you can take it all in. Sweet Home Alabama www.Alabama.Travel. You can get the full view at SeeAL360.com. It is a beautiful still photograph with just three box outlines. See - the sunrise spread across the treetops , Smell – the freshness of the loblolly pines, Listen – to the river whispering its secrets.

Norwich, CT representatives could work with the State of CT Office of Tourism for/in a similar type of promotion. Certainly not in an identical promotion but in the development of a promotion that is large enough to encompass all of Eastern CT and generic enough make people curious as to what can be found here.

The “Other Connecticut” is more than just Norwich, CT.

I agree. Norwich gets lumped in with Mystic Country tourism. Norwich has urban areas, rural farms, 3 rivers and so many cool things to do. Have you ever seen these videos? https://askncdc.com/cityontherise/

@Deanna Rhodes The idea is there but the execution and communication of the thought process is murky and not progressive or inviting. I served as the Norwich representative to the early days of the district and while it has had monumental changes from the 1980's and 90's , Norwich is only lumped in because we, as leaders and residents allow it to be.
