Susy Hurlbert2 months ago Norwich should be a tourist destination by boat! With the waterfront under development, I'd love to see a steamboat sightseeing/sunset/dinner cruise and a mini-tugboat service that takes people to Mohegan Sun, and the new Preston promenade. More reasons for people to park, stroll, eat, and enjoy Norwich waterfront. Also, why isn't Norwich and/or the historical society doing more of a push for businesses to utilize the rich history. Like, call a bar Benedict's or Arnolds, and have a life size statue of the bad boy on the street. Or a life size statue of Uncas at an eatery, featuring some dishes that were influenced by the Mohegan and Pequot tribes, like Three Sisters stew, clam cakes, Indian pudding, succulent venison, and fry bread.... so people can remember their history or learn about it interactively in real time!

Susy Hurlbert3 years ago 1) Whether we want to believe it or not, perception of parking in Norwich is daunting. Bring back a tourist trolley with historical narrator/driver to help tourists and patrons learn about Norwich's brilliant history, go barhopping or attend a singular event without worrying about where to park.2) have life size historical figures placed around town, ie Benedict Arnold, William Ledyard, Samuel Huntington, etc etc. Create interest in Norwich and a renewed desire to patron restaurants and grow business.
